Lehman Brothers collapse, Who’s next?

7 years after the US market officially reopened on September 17, 2001 for trading after the aftermath of 9/11 attacks, on September 15, 2008, Lehman Brothers filed for the biggest bankruptcy in history. The Dow Jones lost 503.99 points which was one of the biggest one-day declines in years.

1. ABN Amro Bank – Amsterdam, the Netherlands
2. Merrill Lynch – New York, USA (Bank of America will take over soon)
3. Goldman Sachs – New York, USA
4. Deutsche Bank – Frankfurt, Germany
5. Morgan Stanley – New York, USA
6. Bank of America – Charlotte, NC, USA
7. UBS AG – Basel and Zurich, Switzerland
8. Bear Stearns – New York, USA  (sold to JP Morgan Chase for only $10 per share in May 2008)
9. Lehman Brothers – New York, USA (filed Bankruptcy in September 2008)
10. JP Morgan Chase – New York, USA
